| Nicole Humphrey is a freelance writer,
author and a consultant for Close to My Heart. She resides in St.
Charles, Missouri with Mike and their five children and two furbabies
(Max - a Shih-tzu and Maple - a Manx).
Nicole is also a work at home mom. While she owns her own small
home business, she also works as a freelance writer, copywriter,
editor, ghostwriter and author.
Nicole grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She started writing poetry
and song lyrics as early as age 7 and 8, and continued the practice
nearly all her life, in addition to also keeping all types of
journals and diaries.
Being the creative type from an early age, she enjoys crafts,
scrapbooking, stamping, paper crafts, writing, reading, and photography.
Nicole loves nature and does a lot of her writing outdoors both
with pen and paper and her trusty laptop.
Nicole has been a single parent of two since 2000, however has
recently blended her family and is now a happy shared parent of
five kids. (Ryan -13, Vanessa - 13, Melissa - 11, Brielle - 10
and Jessica - 8). Much of Nicole's writing reflects her personal
stories and experiences which makes for great education, personal
experience and humor.
She has been published in various trade media and more recently
got accepted to write for an International trade magazine. In
addition, she often contributes articles to several local media
publications.
As a single parent for so many years, and now a rather large
family of seven, she has been practicing a frugal living lifestyle
for a very long time. She has always had an interest in various
ways to cut costs and save money and this is obvious in her frugal
living articles. This experience has given her the opportunity
to guest write for the frugal living blog at families.com.
Nicole has also guest blogged on the Single Parenting blog, Food
blog , Adoption blog and a handful of others. Her areas of expertise
are broad and cover many topics including adoption, blended families,
ADHD and several other various topics.
Always one for education, she has continued to learn more about
her interests by enrolling in workshops, trainings and other events
for professionals in her areas of interest. She has also written
several articles for local publications dealing with these interests.
Nicole is currently working on several articles for scrapbooking
magazines and two scrapbooking websites. She is also in the process
of working on two children's books and her first book series.
